Using TZO Outbound Mail Relay (OMR) with the Outlook Express Email Client
Author
Eric
If you plan to use the TZO OMR (Outbound Mail Relay) services with your Outlook Express Email client, you need to setup your OUTBOUND/OUTGOING SMTP server to use OMR.TZO.COM
1) Open Outlook Express email client
2) Click the
TOOLS
menu, and then select
Accounts
as shown in the screenshot below
3) Select the
MAIL
tab as shown in the screenshot below and then click on your email account in the list as shown, then click
PROPERTIES
4) Click on the
SERVERS
tab and find the OUTGOING MAIL (SMTP) field and change it to
OMR.TZO.COM
as shown in the screenshot below
5)For most users, this should do the trick and allow you to now send out email from your IP address through the TZO OMR relay servers. If your ISP blocks the SMTP port 25 outbound, you will need to complete step 6 shown below. Otherwise, you can click the OK and then CLOSE buttons to return to the main Outlook Express screen.
6) If your ISP blocks SMTP port 25 outbound, you will need to click the
ADVANCED
Tab as shown in the screenshot in step 4. Once you click the
ADVANCED
tab, you will now see the screenshot shown below. Navigate to the OUTGOING MAIL(SMTP)field and change it from 25 to 2525 as shown. You should then click OK, then CLOSE to return to the main Outlook Express screen. You are now set to send out via the OMR.TZO.COM server on port 2525.
