Outbound Mail Relay (OMR) Notice: Mail Quota Nearly Exhausted
The OMR server will notify account holders whenever their email usage exceeds a 'warning' threshold. This communication is intended to help admins avoid unexpectedly running out of OMR message credits. By default, this warning is sent when your 'current monthly volume' exceeds 80% of your 'monthly quota'.
For example, assuming an OMR plan of 20,000 emails/month, the default warning is sent when the account has sent 16,000 emails.
Frequency of OMR Quota Warnings
The Mail Quota Warning is sent once -- when the usage exceeds the warning level.
All quotas are reset on the first of the month. After the reset, it is possible you could exceed the warning threshold for the new month. This would indicate your usage is very close to what your plan allows for, and an upgrade in capacity is advised.
Additional Detail
Notifications can be sent to alternate email addresses.
Notifications can be sent in 'standard' (long) format, or a special 'short' (max 160 char) format suitable for emailing to pagers or email-->SMS gateways.
An additional email notification is sent when the account actually exhausts their OMR quota. This topic is covered at TZO KB Article 339
Be aware that your server may send more outbound traffic than you have created yourself. For example, if someone sends email to the wrong address at your domain, typically your server will be 'helpful' and send a bounce message to that sender to indicate there is no such user, or for other reasons. Due to spammer abuse, this could cause your server to send out hundreds or thousands of these bounce emails (which may go to forged email addresses). For this reason it is advised to disable 'Delivery notifications' or 'bounces'. Please consult your email software Support for specifics how to do this.
